About Maria

With a non-dogmatic approach to yoga, Maria sees physical practice as a gateway to exploration and transformation, rather than an end in itself. Her teaching brings together rigour, awareness and perception, making space for a relationship with the body that can be disciplined, free and personal at the same time.

Her journey began with dance. She graduated in Contemporary Dance from the Civica Scuola di Teatro Paolo Grassi in Milan and continued to explore the body through performance, somatic practices and different movement languages.

Across Milan, Paris, London, Tel Aviv and Lisbon, where she lived, studied and worked, yoga gradually became a central part of her research. In Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa, she found a language particularly aligned with her own path, within a method rooted in the tradition of yoga. Over the years, she has taught in studios and international settings, led workshops and retreats, and been a guest at Yoga Festival Milano.

Her experience in dance and somatic research continues to inform her relationship with yoga, shaping an approach to practice and teaching that is constantly evolving.

After ten years away, she returned to Bari and founded Orama, a space dedicated to yoga and contemporary research into the body, conceived also as a place for connection and exchange, where community can grow through movement and creative experiences.
